KP chalks out Rs5120m plan for promotion of tourism

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has chalked out a mega development plan worth Rs5120 million for promotion of tourism, sports, culture and youth sectors in erstwhile Fata.
This substantial amount would be spent in fiscal year 2019-20 with special focus on establishment of sports facilities, tourists information and art & culture centres in all tribal districts of erstwhile Fata, officials sources in KP Tourism and Sports Department told APP on Friday.
To promote sports infrastructure in all seven tribal districts, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would spend Rs1000 million in up-gradation, establishment and rehabilitation of sports facilities to provide healthy activities to tribal youth.
To promote local games in erstwhile Fata, the Government would spend Rs250 million in holding of sports events besides Rs1000 million would be spent on establishment and development of tourists destinations, tourists information centres, picnic sports and rest areas in all tribal districts.
The government has set aside Rs400 million for holding of tourists activities and festivals besides Rs 120 million development of tourists services in current fiscal year.
To facilitate tribal youth, the government would spend Rs1000 million on their development programs and establishment of youth facilities in all seven tribal districts. The youth of erstwhile Fata are very talented and these facilities were aimed at to take full advantages of their talents.
At least Rs600 million would be spent on economic uplift of youth in all the seven tribal districts including South Waziristan, North Waziristan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kurram, Orakzai and Khyber.
He said the government would spend Rs400 million on establishments of art and culture centres, Rs250 million on promotion of cultural activities and Rs100 million on protection and management of archaeological and cultural heritage. These projects after completion would provide better facilities to tribal people especially youth besides create jobs opportunities and alleviate poverty in erstwhile Fata.—APP
