Kashmiri man goes missing in New Delhi

A man from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has gone missing in New Delhi.

The 52-year-old man, Mirza Mohammad Haneef Beig, a resident of Hawal area of Srinagar has been missing from his residence in New Delhi since Monday.

A relative of Beig while taking to his Facebook profile wrote: “This is to inform everyone that my cousin namely Mirza Mohammad Hanief Beig presently staying in Delhi regarding his business has not returned back to his place since yesterday (Monday) afternoon. His cell phone is switched off and he was last seen online at 4:55PM. If any-body has any sort of information regarding him kindly share the same and help us in tracing him.”

In New Delhi, he was residing in the Batla house area of Okhla. Beigh is a businessman by profession.

The family of Hanief Beig has expressed concern about his safety. In the past also, many Kashmiris have gone missing in various parts of India.

Moreover, a religious scholar has gone missing from a police station in Kulgam district.

The scholar, Mufti Nazir Ahmed Dar, had gone missing after reported to Behibagh police staton in the district on January 28, 2023.

“On 27 January, my brother (Nazir Ahmed) was called by Police Behibagh station to submit some documents of his school for verification purposes and he went to the police station with the said documents. The police station unnecessarily ordered him to bring more documents/ photocopies the next day (28 January 2023) morning,” his brother said.

On 28th January, he added, Nazir Ahmad Dar visited the police station after which he is missing. “We tried to call him on his numbers but our calls were getting rejected and since 28 January, his phone has been switched off,” his brother told the media.—KMS
