Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development, Sayed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari on Thursday paid rich tributes to the armed forces of Pakistan for not only defending borders of the country but also restoring peace and normalcy in the country.
Addressing the Defence Day ceremony dedicated to Kashmiri men, women and children who are facing worst oppressive measures by the occupying Indian forces in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), Zulfi Bukhari said people of Pakistan had strong historic ties with the people of the region and no one can disrupt this deep rooted bond.
He said the dream of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent would not be complete without acceptance of the Kashmiris’ right of self-determination.
The Modi government has imposed curfew in the IOK for more than 35 days and all their communication links to outside world have been severed, said Bukhari.
Today, they are facing death, disease and destruction and looking towards the international community with the hope they would pay heed to their plight, said Bukhari.
He urged the international community to take notice of suffering humanity in the IOK. The atrocities being committed by the occupying Indian forces in the IOK have crossed all limits.
The UN, the US and the EU should all build pressure on fascist Modi and his government to undo act of annulling Article 370 and 35-A, said Bukhari.
There are 80 percent Muslim population in the IOK facing worst crisis due to non-availability of food, essential stuff of daily use etc and the world community should move before it’s too late.
Bukhari said the government was determined to support the Kashmiris in the IOK and would continue to extend moral, diplomatic and political support to them in their just cause of self-determination and resolution of the Kashmir crisis in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.
On behalf of the government Bukhari assured the audience, mostly young students to raise the Kashmiris’ voice on every international forum including the UN General Assembly.
