Karachi to face water shortfall after power breakdown at Dhabeji PS

A sudden power breakdown by K-Electric at Dhabeji Pumping Station has caused significant disruption, affecting two major water lines of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC).

According to the Spokesperson of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation KW&SC both the 72-inch PCC Line No. 1 and the 72-inch MS Line No. 5 were damaged due to reverse pressure.

Upon receiving the report, KW&SC officials promptly inspected the affected lines and initiated emergency repairs. The CEO KW&SC has instructed officials to expedite the restoration work to ensure minimal inconvenience to the citizens.

According to the Chief Engineer of the KW&SC, repairs to Line No. 5 are expected to be completed within the next 24 hours, while repairs to Line No. 1 will be completed within four days. The power outage occurred at 9:15 AM on Monday, halting all operations at the Dhabeji Pumping Station.
