Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Saturday announced details of second phase of the Karachi Rights Movement at a workers convention held at Idara Noor-e-Haq.
Detailing the next phase of the campaign, the JI leader directed the party workers to drum up support for Karachi Rights Caravans.
He said that the caravan will be taken out in one region, designated by the party as district, of the city on daily basis. The series of caravans will be initiated from March 4, he added.
He directed the party workers to hold rallies and corner meetings at each and every neighborhood of the megalopolis in order to create awareness among masses.
Temperory camps will be setup on route of the caravans, he said adding that all the trade unions and platforms that supported the JI during the 29-day successful sit-in will be mobilized.
He said that unfortunately all the mainstream political forces in the city, including the PPP, the MQM and the PTI contributed in the devastation of the city.
He said that the sit-in has changed the dimension of politics in Karachi and provided Karachiites a hope for restoration of the city’s glory. He added that the JI has become a ray of hope for the people of Karachi and it was right time for the party workers to come forward and approach to all potential voters and fellow city men.
