JI, GDA plan joint action against electoral irregularities

The Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) delegation led by Dr. Safdar Abbasi and Sardar Abdul Rahim, Vice President and General Secretary respectively, met with Karachi’s Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, and other party leaders at Idara Noor-e-Haq on Tuesday.

The participants exchanged views on the widespread electoral irregularities and mandate theft in the recent general elections and agreed to collaborate on joint efforts against such malpractices in the future. Jamaat-e-Islami extended an invitation to the GDA to join an ongoing protest demonstration at Toll Plaza in Hyderabad, which was accepted by Hafiz NaeemurRehman, affirming his participation in the sit-in.

The delegation included Syed MunirHyder Shah, JagdishAhuja, Abdul KarimShar, and Muzaffar Khan Barohi Advocate. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Hafiz NaeemurRehman stated that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had resorted to flagrant rigging and seizure of polling stations across interior Sindh.  He reiterated the stance of rejecting fake results issued under Form 47 and demanded the release of results based on Form 45. Regarding his decision not to take an oath in Karachi, Hafiz Naeemur-Rehman criticized the Election Commission, stating that the electoral process had undermined the constitutional and democratic principles of the country.

Dr. Safdar Abbasi, addressing the media representatives, expressed gratitude to Jamaat-e-Islami for accepting their invitation and emphasized their united stand against electoral fraud and mandate theft. He called for the annulment of the entire election process and demanded fresh elections, regardless of the winners.
