Jahangir Tareen, Patron Chief of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) has announced distancing himself from politics, days after the seasoned politician lost in both NA-155 and NA-149 constituencies in Elections 2024.

Tareen, once a close aide of Imran Khan – who now leads IPP, shared his decision in a social media post. He expressed gratitude to everyone for their support during the recent election and felicitating his opponents.

He mentioned having respect for will of Pakistanis, as he also quits as Chairman IPP, stepping away from politics altogether. “By the Grace of Allah, I will continue to serve my country to the best of my ability in a private capacity,” he further added.

The disgruntled politician was contesting recent general election from Multan where he was defeated by independent candidate Amir Dogar, as well Lodhran, where he lost to PML-N candidate Siddique Khan Baloch.

This is a developing story, and will be updated later…
