ISLAMABAD — Schools in federal capital Islamabad will remain open on Saturday after learning activities suffered for three days in twin cities during SCO summit 2024.

Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) shared a notification which stated that all schools will remain open on October 19 Saturday to make up for lost instructional time due to local holidays.

The federal authorities made a working day for all institutions in the capital as students and parents lamented loss during three holidays. The move aims to ensure the syllabus is fully covered as government is taking steps for instructional time lost during the conference days.

A three-day public holiday was declared in twin cities from October 14 to 16 in preparation for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s (SCO) Council of Heads of Government moot.

Amid beefed up security, the federal government also deployed Pakistan Army in Islamabad while parts of cities remain fortified.
