ISLAMABAD – Monsoon rains and gusty winds are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and at isolated places in Pakistan on Sunday night and Monday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea penetrate the upper/central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave affects the upper parts of the country.
Under these weather conditions, mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country on Sunday night and Monday. However, rain-thundershowers associated with gusty winds are predicted at isolated places in the twin cities and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, northeast Punjab, northeast/south Balochistan, southeast Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 35-37°C on Monday and Tuesday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 35-37°C on Monday and Tuesday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred at isolated places in south Punjab, northeast Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the last 24 hours. Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.

Turbat and Dadu remained the hottest places in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Maximum temperature in Jacobabad and Dalbandin was recorded at 43°C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 50 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 38 per cent.
