Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pakistan weather update; rains, hailstorms likely

ISLAMABAD – Intermittent rains with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Monday night and Tuesday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over the western and upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely strengthen tonight.
Under these weather conditions, rains are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and north/south Balochistan on Monday night. Rains may also occur at isolated places in Potohar Region and upper Punjab.

On Tuesday, more rains are likely in the twin cities, upper/central Punjab, northeast Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. Heavy falls and hailstorms may occur at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.

Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 30-32°C on Tuesday and 31-33°C on Wednesday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 30-32°C on Tuesday and 31-33°C on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. However, isolated rain occurred in parts of the country.

Sukkur, Sakrand, Lasbella, Khairpur, Mithi, Turbat and Dadu remained the hottest places in Pakistan where the maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 31°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 91 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 31°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 71 per cent.
