ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan said his family members faced ham-handedness from Islamabad police while he was busy in the Supreme Court.

He mentioned leaving the apex court during the hearing of Election Commission of Pakistan’s plea challenging the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) verdict.

Gohar said his sons and nephews faced harassment from the capital police. He lamented that cops harassed his family members and took a computer, and some documents.

During the case hearing, PTI chairman apprised the chief justice that several vehicles raided his residence, roughed up his nephew and took away with crucial documents.

CJP Isa then apprised the attorney general for Pakistan that this should not have happened, if it did. As PTI chairman, returned to court, Chief Justice inquired from him about the raid, and later directed additional attorney general to look into the matter.

Islamabad police, on the other hand, said the house of PTI chairman was raided in search of wanted criminals who reportedly spotted there.
