ISL-United makes FM-101 media partner

Radio Pakistan and Islamabad United have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for media partnership in Lahore. Director General Radio Pakistan, Mrs Samina Waqar represented Radio Pakistan while owner of Islamabad United Ali Naqvi represented Islamabad United at the signing ceremony held in connection with PSL new edition, said a press release issued here Thursday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Director General PBC, Samina Waqar expresses her pleasure over signing the MoU with Islamabad United. She hoped that the partnership between Radio Pakistan and Islamabad United would continue in future. She said under the MoU, Radio Pakistan would air live commentary for the event.
Samina Waqar said Radio commentators would also be sent abroad, adding relations between Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Cricket Board were very old. She said Radio Pakistan successfully broadcast live commentary on matches of recent Pak-Sri Lanka cricket series and Pak-Bangladesh women teams as well. The DG PBC said Radio Pakistan would also play its role for promotion of game of hockey in country and ensure commentary for hockey events and matches whenever they were held.
On his part, Chief Executive Islamabad United, Syed Ali Naqvi said Radio Pakistan was a great national broadcasting institution and “we are honored by signing MoU regarding Media Partnership.”
He termed the partnership a positive omen which would promote game of cricket in the country. He said 89 foreign players had applied to participate in the PSL this year.
