So far no coronavirus patient has been reported in Pakistan, however, due to an outbreak of the virus in China, precautionary measures and protective methods must be adopted to avoid any chance of infection.
The Punjab government has issued necessary directions to all the concerned departments to be vigilant. Institute of Public Health (IPH) and the Health Department issued guidelines to the hospitals in this regard. IPH also organised training workshop in collaboration of University of Veterinary Sciences for master trainers of the teaching hospitals in usage of personal protective equipment to avoid coronavirus during the treatment/handling of patients. It was stated by the IPH Dean Prof Dr Zarfishan Tahir while talking to the media during the training workshop.
