In a recent ceremony held at the coastal area of Gaddani, senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Qamarul Zaman Kaira, issued a stern warning to the interim government, urging them to refrain from engaging in unconstitutional actions that fall outside their mandate.

Kaira expressed concern over several actions taken by the incumbent government, emphasizing the importance of parliamentary endorsement for such measures. He asserted that the current government should stick to its mandate to avoid creating problems for itself and challenges for the overall system. According to Kaira, the power to amend the consti-tution, legislate, and pass budgets lies solely with elected governments, not the opposition.

Highlighting the need for a constructive role for the opposition, Kaira suggested that rather than propos-ing policies, they should focus on serving as a pro-posal-making body for effective policymaking.

Commenting on the political landscape, Kaira ac-knowledged that the situation could deteriorate if elections are not held. He referenced Maulana Fazlur Rahman’s concerns about the law and order situation in two provinces, stating that there has never been a favorable atmosphere for the PPP, despite the circumstances in 2002, 2008, and 2013.

Expressing solidarity with Fazlur Rahman, Kaira emphasized the importance of a uniform approach to address threats faced by political leaders. He cautioned against favoritism, noting reservations about providing undue facilities to certain groups over others.

During the ceremony, renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel also addressed the audience, underlining the significance of aligning actions with the teachings of the Prophet and considering the Hereafter alongside worldly matters. He pointed out the foundation laying of crucial projects in Gaddani, such as schools, hospitals, and mosques, emphasiz-ing their importance for the community.

In a candid reflection on Pakistan’s global perception, Kaira lamented the negative stereotypes the country faces, urging a collective effort to improve the nation’s image.

He emphasized the need for Muslims to govern globally with knowledge and integrity, rather than being labeled as dishonest or condemned nations. Maulana Tariq Jameel echoed these sentiments, encouraging a focus on values that contribute positively to society.
