Inflation rises to 9.3pc in July

Inflation based on the Consumer Price Index inched up to 9.3 percent in July from 8.6 percent in June, showed data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics on Monday.
According to details, CPI inflation increased by 9.3% on year on year (YoY) basis in July 2020 as compared to an increase of 8.6% in the previous month and 8.4% in July 2019.
On Month on Month (MoM) basis, it increased by 2.5% in July 2020 as compared to an increase of 0.8% in the previous month and an increase of 1.8% in July 2019.
Substantial increase in prices of petroleum products and has increase the overall inflation as July inflation exceed estimates of research analyst and economists.
