A court of notorious Indian probe agency, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has declared a Kashmiri hailing from Pulwama district of occupied Jammu and Kashmir as “proclaimed offender” for challenging New Delhi’s illegal hold of his motherland.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the NIA court Pulwama declared Ashiq Ahmed Nengroo of Hanjan Bala in the district a proclaimed offender on the application moved by the Indian police.
The police claimed that Nengroo is presently in AJK where from he is carrying out pro-freedom activities. It is worth noting that that the Narendra Modi-led Hindutva government has formulated a policy to declare all those committed to the ongoing freedom struggle as “proclaimed offenders” and then attach their properties on the charge of being involved in anti-India activities. This is being done to intimidate the Kashmiris who refuse to toe the BJP’s line in the occupied territory. However, the iron-fist policies of India have failed to force the IIOJK people to give up their just cause and they are determined to continue their struggle till the achievement of their right to self-determination.—KMS
