In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that India’s continued intransigence on the Kashmir dispute has put the peace in South Asia in particular and the world in general at stake.
The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said there can be no permanent peace in the region without a just settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute. He said regional peace hinges upon the settlement of the Kashmir dispute as per the will of the Kashmiri people.
The spokesman deplored that India has been impeding the way for just solution of the Kashmir dispute for the last over seven decades. “Modi regime will never succeed to suppress the Kashmiris’ struggle to secure their inalienable right to self-determination. Kashmiris have the right to seek the resolution of the Kashmir dispute as per their wishes and aspirations,” he said.
The APHC spokesman maintained that New Delhi must remember that its policy of repression is bound to fail in IIOJK. He said that the UN must play its role in the settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute as per its resolutions. The international community must force India to fulfill its pledges made before the UN of giving the Kashmiris their right to self-determination.
Meanwhile, APHC leader Jahangir Ghani Butt in a statement in Srinagar said Hurriyat represents popular sentiment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and is the real political voice of the people, and sealing its office will shows the fascist mindset of the Modi regime.—KMS
