Illegally detained senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, has said that Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government’s brutal tactics cannot subdue the Kashmiris’ spirit for freedom and they will continue their struggle till it reaches its logical conclusion.

Nayeem Ahmed Khan in a message from New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail strongly denounced the attaching of APHC head office and eviction of people from their lands in the name so-called anti-encroachment drive by the occupation authorities. He said that such actions were a part of the Modi regime’s nefarious designs to intimidate the Kashmiris into submission. However, he said, such tactics have failed to force the Kashmiri people to surrender their just cause of securing their right to self-determination in the past and will meet the same fate in the future as well.

Meanwhile, protest demonstrations continued against the occupation authorities’ so-called anti-encroachment drive which actually is aimed at evicting Kashmiris from their lands and properties. A large number of people held a demonstration in Kunjwani-Bhatindi area on the outskirts of Jammu city. Members of Jammu Kashmir Kissan Tehreek, led by senior leader of Communist Party of India-Marxist, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, staged a similar protest in Kathua. Shopkeepers in Nagbal area of Shopian district observed shutdown, today, against the so-called anti-encroachment drive.

Posters appeared in different areas of the occupied territory thanking Pakistan for observing the Kashmir Solidarity Day on 5th February, every year. The posters with pictures of Hurriyat leaders, including Masarrat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Dr Hameed Fayaz and Mushtaq-ul-Islam, were displayed by various pro-freedom organizations in Srinagar, Baramulla, Pulwama and other areas of the territory.—KMS
