In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leaders Syed Bashir Andrabi and Khawaja Firdous have said the atrocities of the Indian forces against unarmed Kashmiris have been intensified as the so-called Republic Day of India is approaching.

Syed Bashir Andrabi and Khawaja Firdous in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said that mass arrests and house raids by Indian troops have been intensified as January 26, the India’s Republic Day, drawing nearer. They said that the Indian forces were not only targeting Kashmiri youth but also extra-judicially killing them in so-called search operations.

The APHC leaders said that India was using clever tactics to fulfill its nefarious agenda and weaken the spirit of Kashmiris for freedom in the occupied territory.

The leaders said that the Indian occupation re-gime had cancelled the registration of Kashmir Press Club, the largest organization of journalists in occupied Kashmir to stifle freedom of media and had taken control of the club building. The journal-ists have been evicted and threatened with dire con-sequences.

Syed Bashir Andrabi and Khawaja Firdous urged the international community to play its role in ending the ongoing Indian atrocities on unarmed Kashmiris. They said that the day was not far when Kashmiri people would gain freedom from India’s illegal occupation.

The leaders called on the international commu-nity to play its role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspira-tions of the Kashmiri people.

The APHC-AJK leader Sheikh Abdul Mateen said that the Kashmiris are determined to carry on their struggle for right to self determination from tyrannical clutches of India, despite all odds. Sheikh Mateen said that the people of occupied Kashmir were ready to face Indian bullets on their chests but would never surrender their just cause.

The APHC-AJK leader Zahid Ashraf in a state-ment in Islamabad said that the youth are sacrificing their precious lives to end the forcible control of their motherland by India. He said the Kashmiri people are duty bound to carry forward their mis-sion to its logical conclusion. Zahid Ashraf warned that India’s belligerency had taken the worst form recently which had brought the South Asian region to the brink of a disastrous war.—KMS
