The Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Mahmood Ahmad Saghar, has said that India has practically turned the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a military garrison where all rights of people have been usurped.
Mahmood Ahmad Saghar in a statement issued in Islamabad said Indian troops are committing grave human rights violations in the occupied territory. He deplored that the troops were killing innocent Kashmiris, particularly youth, and destroying people’s properties and houses on a daily basis. He said that the Kashmiris had rejected the illegal occupation of their homeland by India and the unilateral actions of 5th August 2019 by the Modi-led fascist Indian government.
The APHC-AJK Convener said the occupation authorities have detained the Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders in their houses and jails, and booked many of them under black laws including Public Safety Act (PSA). He appealed to the international community, particularly the United Nations, to play an effective role in the settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.—KMS
