ISLAMABAD has rejected New Delhi’s attempts of linking
the recent incidents in India-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K) to Pakistan, saying “attributing this indigenous Kashmiri resistance to any alleged ‘infiltration’ is a travesty”. According to an official statement issued by the Foreign Office on Tuesday, Pakistan said that India’s typical allegations of “infiltration” ring hollow also “because all these incidents have taken place deep inside the disputed valley, several miles behind Indian military’s extensive infiltration grid, comprising several layers of security”.
The Indian allegations are nothing but a ploy to defame Pakistan as it was next to impossible for any infiltration to take place when the entire Jammu and Kashmir has remained under constant curfew and lockdown since August 5 when New Delhi illegally annexed the territory ending its special status. There were already more than seven hundred thousand troops in Occupied Kashmir but ten thousand more were deployed after the clampdown, making it one of the highest militarized zones of the world. Allegations of infiltration and ‘launching pads’ are being used to target civilian population on this side of the Line of Control (LoC), which is also a crude attempt to divert attention of the world community from black deeds of the occupied forces that are playing havoc with lives and freedoms of Kashmiris. The incidents being referred to by New Delhi are in fact reminders that no amount of brutalities would deter Kashmiris from pursuing their legitimate struggle for right of self-determination. As pointed out by Foreign Office, India cannot mislead the international community with its unfounded allegations and aggressive actions on the ground. International community should heed to the repeated calls of Pakistan to take cognizance of the threat to peace and stability in South Asia posed by India’s irresponsible rhetoric and belligerent posture. In fact, India also ought to explain as to why entire Kashmir Valley and three districts of Jammu have turned into ‘hotspots’ of Coronavirus despite stringent lockdown for nine months. The development seems to be a part of the conspiracy aimed at ethnic cleansing of Kashmiris with a view to changing its demography.
