In order to frustrate PDM’s possible no-trust move against Azad Jammu and Kashmir government, the PTI has decided to sacrifice its own Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi. Former prime minister and PTI Head Imran Khan on Wednesday while giving approval of the no-confidence motion against his party’s AJK premier, also suggested name for the new chief executive of the valley.
PTI Secretary General Asad Umar wrote a letter to AJK Assembly speaker in this regard. According to the letter, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas would be the PTI contender for the premiership. The AJK assembly session would be convened on April 15.
Imran Khan has instructed all MLAs of the party in this connection.The PDM wanted to bring a no-confidence motion in the AJK assembly with the help of estranged members of the ruling PTI.
After the general elections in AJK in July 2021 in which PTI was emerged as the largest party, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas was the strongest candidate for premiership but Imran Khan installed Qayyum Niazi as prime minister of the AJK.
