The All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders have demanded an impartial international probe into all massacres carried out by Indian troops in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to award an exemplary punishment to the perpetrators of these heinous crimes.
The APHC leaders made the demand on the occasion of the completion of 33 years to Gaw Kadal massacre, today. More than 50 innocent people were martyred and hundreds others injured when Indian troops opened indiscriminate firing on peaceful demonstrators in Gaw Kadal area of Srinagar on this day in 1990.
The APHC leaders and organizations including Farida Bahenji, Ghulam Nabi War, Khadim Hussain, Sibte Shabbir Qummi, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Hurriyat Forum in their statements issued in Srinagar paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Gaw Kadal carnage. They said Indian troops have committed scores of massacres in the occupied territory but not a single soldier involved in these gory incidents has been brought to book. They condemned the criminal silence maintained by the international community on the Indian brutalities in IIOJK.
A protest demonstration was held in Doda district of Jammu region against the Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government’s action of evicting people from their land in the name of anti-encroachment drive across the occupied territory. The Modi regime and its administration in IIOJK have snatched lacs of kanals of land in all districts of the Kashmir Valley and Muslim majority areas of Jammu region in the last few days.
Indian police arrested Hurriyat leader, Zahoor Ahmed Butt, from his residence in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district. The occupation authorities booked the arrested leader under draconian law, Public Safety Act, and shifted him to Bhaderwah jail in Jammu region.
At least six persons were injured, today, in two mysterious blasts in Narwal area of Jammu city. Soon after the blasts, Indian forces’ personnel cordoned off the area and launched searches. Indian troops also launched a cordon and search operation at Lassana in Surankote area of Poonch district.
A report released by Kashmir Media Service and APHC-AJK chapter at an event in Islamabad, today, said that Indian troops in their unabated acts of state terrorism martyred 77 innocent Kashmiris from July 2022 to December 2022. It said that during the period, more than 300 youth were arrested and dozens of people were injured due to the use of brute force by Indian troops and police during cordon and search operations in the occupied territory. The report said that one youth was subjected to custodial disappearance by the Indian Army. —KMS
