National Assembly constituency NA-241, Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) candidate Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig has clinched victory in the 2024 general elections, according to unofficial results from all polling stations. Baig secured 52,456 votes, establishing a lead of 3,846 votes over the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed independent candidate Khurram Sher Zaman, who garnered 48,610 votes to secure the second position.
Meanwhile, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) candidate Farooq Sattar trailed far behind, managing to secure only 494 votes. The victory of Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig underscores PPP’s continued influence in Karachi’s political landscape and signals a significant setback for PTI-backed candidates in the constituency.
