In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Delimitation Commission is working on data taken from the Deputy Commissioners of IIOJK about the districts, tehsils and previous As-sembly constituencies, which had maximum number of Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs).
Media reports said that around 18-20 Assembly seats for SCs and STs can be reserved in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Delimitation Commission is likely to meet next month with enhanced working report, where seven to eight seats for SCs Jammu region as they have no population in Kashmir valley and around 10 to 12 STs’ seats will be reserved in both the re-gions.—KMS
