Following the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Ministry of Energy, Power Division, the Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (IESCO) keeping in view the convenience of its customers, has extended the deadline for payment of July 2024 electricity bills which is due in August.
According to a handout, the consumers can submit their electricity bills without any additional surcharge by the extended deadline (10 days later than the due date given on their bills).
It may be mentioned here that Prime Minister Sharif earlier in the day had directed his team to review measures to provide relief to the electricity consumers. The extension in the deadline for payment has been seen in the context of Prime Minister’s instructions.
Furthermore, the consumers who have paid their July 2024 electricity bills with late payment charges (LPS) will have their LPS adjusted in the August 2024 billing, the handout further says.
In this regard, the IESCO Commercial Directorate has issued necessary instructions to field formations, banks and post offices and other authorized customer service points.
For more information, consumers can contact the relevant SDO offices, revenue offices, or the nearest customer service center, the handout says.
