After 57 out of 70 suspected cases of coronavirus tested negative on Sunday, District Magistrate of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) on Sunday limited sealing of two sub-sectors—I-10/1 and I-10/4—to a fewer streets in both the sub-sectors.
According to a notification issued by the District Magistrate of Islamabad, the earlier order of sealing the two sub-sectors dated April 29, 2020 has been modified “after analysis of clusters of confirmed Covid-19 cases in I-10/4.”
We sent samples of 70 persons for coronavirus test and 57 of them tested negative, said the Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat in his tweet on Monday. Later, the decision to limit sealing of the two sub-sectors was taken after consultation with the health authorities, the notification further states, further tweets the Deputy Commissioner.
According to the notification, in Sector I-10/1 streets 66, 67, 71 and 900 and Umer Shopping Centre 1-10/1 will now remain closed while in the Sector I-10/4 streets number 31-A and 31-C have been isolated from the rest of the sub-sectors to prevent further spread of novel coronavirus.

The district administration with support of police and paramilitary troops on Thursday sealed the entrance and exit points of sectors I-10/1 and I-10/4 after 33 out of 150 residents tested positive for Coronavirus there.
The sector is now among the hotpots of coronavirus in the federal capital as 33 out of 150 have been tested positive there.
While talking to Pakistan Observer, Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat said as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) a sector or residential area where seven or more positive cases of coronavirus are reported is temporarily sealed and health teams along with the officials of the district administration put the entire locality under surveillance for at least seven days.
