ICT intensifies efforts to tackle dengue spread

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) keeping in view the rise in dengue cases in the Capital has intensified the anti-dengue campaign to curb spread of virus.Speaking during a review meeting held on Monday, the Additional Commissioner/Director Admin Chief Commissioner Office Waqas Anwar directed the authorities to improve sanitation arrangements in different areas of the city and ensure proper disposal of garbage, besides launching an awareness campaign among the people about dengue.

All possible resources will be used to control the deadly virus in Islamabad, with a special focus on rural areas, Waqas Anwar stated.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners Islamabad, DHO, MCI and CDA officers, District Health Officers, Assistant Commissioners and Magistrates, and other stakeholders in the anti-dengue campaign.
According to ICT Spokesperson Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Tabasim, the Additional Commissioner also directed that different areas of the city be sprayed to prevent dengue mosquitoes from breeding.
