LAHORE – A good news for the students as Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced Rs130 billion Honhaar scholarship program for them on Tuesday.

Punjab Higher Education Department said that over 68,000 students applied for Honhaar scholarships.

The applications have been received from the students of 65 universities, 359 colleges, and 12 medical colleges.

The department described the scholarship program as an excellent initiative started by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR HONHAAR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM?

To apply for this scholarship program, students should fulfil the following criteria:

Have domicile from any district of the Punjab

Not be older than 22 years of age on closing date

The Applicant must be enrolled in Selected Disciplines in the Selected Universities / Colleges in fall session 2024. The newly enrolled MBBS and BDS students in 2024 will also be eligible for this scholarship program.

Family monthly income should be less than Rs 300,000 (Affidavit Required)

Minimum FSc./Intermediate marks:

Medical Colleges > 80%

Top Universities > 80%

Public Sector Universities > 75% for Sciences and > 70% for Arts and Social Sciences.

HED Colleges > 65% for Sciences and > 60% for Arts and Social Sciences.

Under the scheme, the students in 68 disciplines would be awarded scholarships, and, in line with Maryam Nawaz’s vision, 30,000 students will receive scholarships each year.

The spokesperson further stated that the scholarship would cover full tuition fees for undergraduate degree programs which would last 4 to 5 years.
