A session of Hamdard Naunehal Assembly Karachi chapter, under the aegis of Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, was held yesterday at Bait-ul-Hikmah Auditorium in Madinat al-Hikmah titled: “International Day of Education and children’s Hakim Mohammed Said.”
Renowned businessman CDR. (r) Muhammad Zakir was invited as a chief guest. Mrs. Sadia Rashid, President HFP and National President Hamdard Naunehal Assembly also attended the session.Mrs. Sadia Rashid said:
“The month of January marks the beginning of a new year, and this month brings us new hopes and aspirations. At the same time, this month reminds us of a great individual who was a symbol of hope and aspirations in the hearts and minds of all of us Shaheed Hakim Mohammad Said, who was born on 9th January in 1920.”She also said: “This month, International Day of Education is celebrated all over the world to assert that education is a need of the hour. Education is essential for the development and character-building of a society.
All his life, Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said strived to promote the importance of knowledge and wisdom. A few aspects of his personality, which were very prominent and noteworthy, include character-development and promotion of education, moral building, and care for children.”She further said that whether it was an individual or a nation, education was as essential as wind & water for progress and development. “The high moral values of the developed nations, their social consciousness and law abidingness are due to the fact that they attain wisdom and knowledge through educating their societies.”
Mrs. Sadia Rashid advised children to follow the footsteps of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said to spread education in society. “If every one of you today commits to hard work and helps those children who are not able to get an education for any reason, many children of our country will get the blessing of education.CDR (Retd) Mohammad Zakir thanked Mrs. Sadia Rashid for inviting him to attend the Hamdard Naunehal Assembly and said that he had been an avid reader of Monthly Hamdard Naunehal in his childhood.
“Taking inspiration from the editorials (Jaago Jgaao) of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said, I established a small library in my hometown at an early age. The greatest virtue of remarkable individuals is that they inspire the next generations with their thoughts. The educational institutions that Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said has established will continue to serve Pakistan for many centuries to come.
Following in the footsteps of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said, I have made my mission to spread education in the society,” he said.
While highlighting the significance of entrepreneurship, he said that his educational project had been imparting entrepreneurship training to the pupils, so that a well-versed generation could be nurtured to guide the country towards economic progress.
Young speakers from different schools namely Laiba Arsalan (Leader of the House), Kamran Ahmed Siddiqui (Opposition Leader), Aiza Arsalan, Ayman Shafi, Hassan bin Arsalan, Meerab, and Fiza Bashir in their speeches paid rich tribute to “Quaid-e-Naunehal” Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said for his contributions in the field of education and highlighted the importance of education in society. Fasiha Gul, a student of Hamdard Public School, acted as the speaker of the Naunehal Assembly.
Students of Brooks Education System presented a special tableau on education and Muhammad Hamza Fazal, a student of PNG Secondary School presented a few quotes of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said.On this occasion, as per a tradition, a special cake cutting ceremony was also held to commemorate the birth anniversary of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said. The youngest child from the gathering was invited to cut the cake with the chief guest. The pupils of Hamdard Public School and Hamdard Village School recited Dua-i-Said. The session concluded after the prize distribution ceremony.
