KARACHI – Hakeem Shehzad, the second husband of Dania Shah, the widow of the late Dr. Aamir Liaquat, praised her as an exceptionally virtuous and decent woman, saying that he had never encountered anyone like her.
Hakeem Shehzad also revealed that this is his fourth marriage.
He also addressed questions about their marriage, saying that when he became Dania’s lawyer, a video of them went viral, which led to inappropriate comments on social media. Some users labeled Dania as Aamir Liaquat’s murderer and a disreputable woman, which Shehzad found highly offensive and contrary to facts.
He made these remarks in his first interview after marriage with Dania Shah.
Hakeem Shehzad criticized the societal view of second marriages as a crime and revealed that Dania is his fourth wife. He also described himself as blessed by God’s mercy.
Regarding the circumstances of Dr. Aamir Liaquat’s death, Shehzad refuted claims that Dania leaked videos leading to Liaquat’s suicide. He called such accusations false and emphasized that Liaquat’s death was a result of murder, not suicide.
Shehzad expressed frustration over the lack of a post-mortem examination and criticized the official narrative saying that Liaquat’s death was due to smoke or Dania’s videos.
Shehzad revealed that he entered Dania’s life only a few months ago and developed feelings for her as there were no other men present. He explained that when he first met Dania’s mother and she sought help, he agreed to marry Dania to prevent her case from being disparaged by others.
A few days ago, Dania Shah confirmed her second marriage through a video statement, revealing that she had married Shehzad several months ago. In her first interview after the marriage, Dania explained that they had only completed the nikah (Islamic marriage contract) so far, with the rukhsati (departure) and walima (celebration) to be arranged later. She noted that the nikah took place two to three months ago and emphasized that the decision was made with careful consideration. Dania expressed her hope that every widow could find a partner like Shehzad.
