Govt striving for rights of religious minorities prisoners : Ejaz

Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs (HR&MA), Ejaz Alam Augustime said that the provincial government under the leadership of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar is striving for the rights of religious minorities prisoners after reviewing the rule 215 of the Pakistan prisoners, 1978 grant of education remission will be beneficial to reduce their conviction besides getting education.

These views were expressed by him during a meeting with the IG Prisons in his office here on Thursday.

Ejaz Alam Augustine said that under the amendments, it could be hoped that Sikh, Christian and Hindu prisoners would be able to reduce their incarceration by getting education according to their religions.
