Expressing serious concerns to pathetic mismanagement in educational boards of Sindh, Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Altaf Shakoor has urged the government to give a serious focus on this issue that is troubling both students and parents.

He said last year a big mismanagement was unearthed in Intermediate Board Karachi, where exam papers were set from out of syllables matters and lowered marks were given to students who had already had problems due to unavailability of textbooks. He said the then acting chief minister Sindh had ordered an inquiry and the inquiry team submitted its report, recommending action against the officials involved in the mismanagement but the government hushed it up and did not take any action. He said the affected parties moved the SHC and PDP provided them legal assistance and a constitutional petition was filed in this regard.

He said a SHC bench comprising Justice Arshad Akram Khan and Justice Sana Akram Minhas has issued notices on the plea for August 22, 2024. He said that the PDP would continue to fight pro bono cases in the whole Sindh province related to matters of public interest.
