ISLAMABAD – The federal government assured the PPP of a high-level review of their concerns and sought more time to address them, the sources said on Tuesday.
The PPP delegation raised grievances and highlighted their reservations over various issues including the lack of implementation on committee recommendations in Punjab.
An important meeting between the coordination committees of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was held to resolve PPP’s concerns.
The delegations from both political parties convened at the Governor Annex of Punjab House.
The PML-N delegation included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Ahmad Khan, Ahad Cheema, and Amir Maqam.
The PPP delegation, led by Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, comprised Naveed Qamar, Sherry Rehman, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, Punjab Governor Sardar Salim Haider, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, former Punjab Governor Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood, and Ali Haider Gillani.
Sources suggested that the progress is expected in resolving the deadlock between the two parties during this critical meeting.
The meeting between the coordination committees of both parties lasted for three hours. During the session, the PPP expressed concerns about unresolved issues despite assurances from the government.

Both the parties agreed to hold another meeting to work towards resolving the outstanding issues.
