Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing quality education and essential facilities to special children during his visit to the special education center in Pindigheb on Saturday.

Governor Haider emphasized the importance of integrating special children into society, labeling it a fundamental religious obligation. He vowed to leverage all available resources to ensure the welfare and education of these children, considering them an indispensable segment of society.

During his tour, Governor Haider engaged with both male and female students in various classrooms, gaining insight into their educational experience and challenges. The school’s principal, Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen, provided a comprehensive overview of the institution’s operations and highlighted existing issues.

Local notable, Riasat Ali, informed the governor about the establishment of the special education center under the leadership of General (retd) Muhammad Arif Malik. Spanning six kanals of land and allocated Rs 20 million in 2022, the center’s construction was partially facilitated through community efforts.

In a gesture of support, Governor Sardar Saleem Haider announced a generous donation of Rs 0.5 million to the school management committee. This contribution aims to address the academic needs of deserving special students, furthering the goal of inclusive education.

The visit underscored the government’s dedication to fostering an environment where every individual, regardless of ability, has access to quality education and opportunities.
