ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s national fruit Mango shines in Google’s Independence Day Doodle as the country turned 77 this year.
The nation is celebrating its 77th Independence Day with a renewed commitment to the spirit of the Pakistan Movement, aiming to transform the country into a true Islamic welfare state.
The search engine shared a note saying this Doodle honors Pakistan’s Independence Day, marking the moment in 1947 when the country gained its independence and sovereignty after centuries of foreign rule.
It said the mango-themed artwork showcases Pakistan’s national fruit. Deeply woven into the nation’s culture for centuries, Pakistani mangoes are famed for their exceptional taste and texture. They represent love, generosity, and prosperity, often exchanged as gifts among friends and family. These sweet, tender fruits also feature prominently in various refreshing dishes and drinks across the country, it said.

August 14 started with a 31-gun salute in the Federal Capital and a 21-gun salute in provincial capitals. Special prayers were held in mosques, seeking peace, unity, and prosperity for the country.
The national flag-raising ceremony took place at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad, where Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif raised the flag.
