In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders have paid glowing tributes to the prominent martyred Kashmiri leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt on the eve of his 38th martyrdom anniversary.
APHC leader Javed Ahmad Mir a statement is-sued in Srinagar while paying tributes to Muham-mad Maqbool Butt stressed the need for hectic dip-lomatic efforts to resolve the Kashmir dispute. He urged the international community play its role in saving new generation in South Asia by finding out a peaceful solution to the long-pedning issue.
Abdul Samad Inqilabi while reiterating demand for return of the bodies of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru to their relatives in Kashmir said that right to self-determination pro-vides the basis for resolution of the Kashmir dis-pute.
APHC-AJK leader Mehmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement in Islamabad said Muhammad Maqbool Butt was an icon of resistance movement who sacri-ficed his life for the noble cause of freedom from Indian occupation. He termed his execution as a judicial murder by the so-called democratic India that violated the fundamentals of justice system and denied him right to fair trial.
Another leader, Imtiaz Wani said that Maqbool Butt would be remembered as the shining star of Kashmiris’ freedom struggle in the history of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speakers at a seminar in Rawalpindi paid glowing tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Former Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Abdul Rashid Turabi was the special guest of the seminar held at the Rawalpindi Arts Council.
APHC-AJK leaders and other speakers paid homage to the Kashmiri martyrs including the vet-eran Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Qazi Abdul Wahid, Nasirul Islam as well as the Executive Director of Kashmir Media Service, Sheikh Tajmmal-ul-Islam.
Abdul Rashid Turabi in his speech said thou-sands of Kashmiris have laid down their lives for the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian illegal occupation. He urged the youth to use their abilities at every forum to highlight the Indian state terrorism in IIOJK.
Other speakers including Mushtaq Butt, Kha-waja Ayaz, Qazi Imran, Abdul Majeed Mir, Dr Aslam, Sardar Javed, Syed Gulshan, Hafiz Fahad, Turab Butt and Khalid Shabbir reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ resolve to accomplish the mission of their martyrs at all costs.
At the end of the seminar, prayers were offered for the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir and release of illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in dif-ferent jails of IIOJK and India.—KMS
