Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) continued search operations against power pilferers.
In June, regional task force and GEPCO surveillance teams caught 383 power thieves red-handed.
On the directions of GEPCO CE Mohsin Raza Khan, the teams raided city, Cantt, Gujrat, Sialkot and Narowal circles and spotted 383 power pilferers.
The teams disconnected the metres besides charging 119,65,000 units in detection bills. The company had also got registered cases against the power stealers with respective police stations.
GEPCO CE said that the surveillance teams had started an active drive against power stealers.
In addition, he said that Gujranwala Electric Power Company also focused on charging detection bills to electricity pilferers and recovery of dues from the dead defaulters of the company.
The company was fully committed for complete elimination of the menace of electricity theft, he added.
