Friday prayers were not allowed at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar for the sixth consecutive week and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq continued to be under house arrest at his residence in Srinagar, occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, AnjumanAuqaf of the Jamia Masjid in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir in a statement in Srinagar said police authorities disallowed the Anjuman from opening the gates of the mosque for Juma prayers. Meanwhile, the AnjumanAuqaf denounced the continued illegal house detention of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and termed it frustration of the authorities.
Darul Khair Mirwaiz Manzil on behalf of the or-ganisation and its Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed grief and sorrow over the damages caused by the recent fire incidents in Allochi Bagh and Dal Lake in Srinagar. According to Kashmir Media Service, four residential houses and other properties were gutted in a terrible incident of fire at Allochi Bagh Srinagar, while five houseboats were damaged in a blaze in Dal Lake. In a statement, Darul Khair on behalf of Mir-waiz Umar Farooq extended sympathy and solidarity to the affected families and emphasised the need for all possible help for their immediate rehabilitation.—KMS
