The Punjab AIDS Control Program in collaboration with Fountain House, Lahore, arranged a free HIV/AIDS screening camp for Transgender population.
The camp was organized on directives of Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid and commitment of Secretary Health, Capt (r) Muhammad Usman to facilitate the masses, specially the underprivileged population.
The camp offered free of cost screening facilities for HIV, Hepatitis C and Syphilis. Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare, Capt (r) Muhammad Usman highlighting the importance of such medical camps further directed setting up of similar camps throughout Punjab to serve the underprivileged.
He further said that it’s our duty to cater to the underprivileged, which is reflected in this initiative as well, whereby the Transgender population is being provided with free HIV screening, treatment and awareness.
