Fish farming awareness walk held

World fisheries Day was also observed in district Hafizabad under auspicious of Fisheries Department Hafizabad, on Monday. In this connection, an awareness walk was taken out from district complex led by Assistant Director Fisheries Hafizabad Muhammad Rafique.

The participants were carrying banners and flexes inscribed with benefits of fish farming for attracting farmers to focus on fish farming not only to increase their income but also to enhance production of meat for combating local needs as well as export purpose.

Talking on these occasions, Assistant Warden Fisheries Faiza Mushataq told that more than 382 fish farms consisting of 4766 acre land are working in the district Hafizabad and there is more potential to increase production of fish and famers can increase their income to establish fish farms to enhance production of meat as well as improve their income significantly.

She said that people of country and abroad like Hafizabadi fish due to its delicious varieties and fish was only food which was enriched with proteins.
