Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that federal and provincial governments have agreed not to hold local bodies elections. The local government system of cities is being ruined, the rulers want to deliberately delay the announcement of the census and stop the holding of local government elections, the federal and provincial governments should tell the people why the census was not discussed in the Council of Common Interests on November 11. ?,
The ruling parties immediately agree for personal interests but present the obstacles in the pursuit of national interest as differences, Jamaat-e-Islami is struggling against the rulers, Haq Do Karachi campaign is underway.
Addressing a Local Bodies Convention at Jamaat-e-Islami North office on Monday, Hafiz Naeem said the city of Karachi is the cradle of mini-Pakistan and the forehead of Pakistan. It is the mother of the poor.
Unfortunately, Karachi has always been treated like a stepmother, the rights of the people here have been violated, the city has been ruined, playgrounds have been occupied and parcels have been cut instead of building a city. Demolition work done, problems cannot be solved by announcements of Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chief Minister of Sindh, performance of Jamaat-e-aIslami is obvious to all, Nematullah Khan built 32 new colleges in the city and provided clean drinking water.
