Father, three sons gunned down; six perish in car plunge

Unidentified gunmen shot dead four members of a family in the Puran area of Shangla in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday morning, police said.

The dead included the father and his three sons. Police have shifted the bodies to Puran Hospital for postmortem. Police have also deployed heavy contingent in the area to avoid any untoward incident.

Separately, Karak district DPO Tariq Habib took action on the murder of a local journalist named Waseem Alam in the Meetha Khel area of the district. The DPO has directed Karak SHO (City) to arrest the killers of the journalist.

Police have also registered a case against unknown accused on the complaint of the victim’s mother.

Police are working to arrest the accused involved in the murder of the journalist, police sources said.

Six people including a child were killed and two injured when a vehicle plunged into a river on Nakyal Road in the Kotli sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Sunday.

The car was coming from the Mohara Nara area to Kotli when the driver lost control and it fell down in the river.

Six out of the eight people travelling in the car died on the spot.
Police have shifted the injured persons to a Kotli hospital.

Rescue 1122 personnel and local people quickly rushed to the accident’s site and retrieved the dead bodies.
