Farmers fail to receive fertilizer

District administration and other departments have completely failed to provide urea fertilizer to farmers in the district Hafizabad despite holding repeated meetings with fertilizer dealers and imposing heavy fines. Procurement of fertilizer become madman's dream and dealers are receiving arbitrary prices in black-marketing.

Central Vice President Kissan Board Pakistan Imanullah Chatha has said that the Punjab government has fixed target to bow wheat crops on 363000 acres fields but non-availability of urea fertilizer in the district at the time of second irrigation of wheat could caused reduction of wheat production in the district.

Central Vice President Kissan Board Pakistan said that this situation reflected helplessness of officers of concerned departments and if this situation would be maintained further then farmers would compel to take streets for getting their rights and saving themselves from starvation. HAFIZABAD: District Police Hafizabad seem to helpless against dacoits and thieves and sense of insecurity was prevailing among people day by day. According to details, a trader of spear parts resident of Chak No 44 Sargodha Ehsan Mehmood and his friend Muhammad Azam resident of Lalian were on its way to his village from Lahore riding on vehicle to purchase spear parts.

When, they reached near Katianwal bridge in precinct of police station Pindi Bhattian, two unknown armed robbers stopped them on gun point and looted Rs. 500000/= from them and fled away. It was stated that this situation was created due posting of recommended SHOs by some political figures. People of the district demanded the District Police Officer Hafizabad not only posted SHOs in police station on merit without any political recommendation but also to take result-oriented measures to overcome lawlessness in the district so that people could take sigh of relief to get rid of anit-social elements.
