In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, families and relatives of Kashmiri political prisoners have complained that Indian authorities are inten-tionally prolonging their detention by not producing them before courts on due dates, on one pretext or another.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the rela-tives and family members through a campaign launched on whatsapp, twitter and other social media platforms for the release of their dear ones said that many of the detainees including APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt are not being released despite being granted bail in all the cases.
They urged international human rights organiza-tions to impress upon India to release the detainees immediately as majority of them are already facing health problems due to jail conditions.
Meanwhile, the APHC-AJK chapter leaders in a joint statement issued in Islamabad urged the inter-national community to take immediate cognizance of the rapidly deteriorating human rights situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
On the other hand, the All Parties Hurriyat Con-ference spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said the worst Indian state terrorism in occupied territory for the last over seven decades has failed to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom sentiment and they are de-termined to carry on their struggle till they achieve their inalienable right to self-determination.
The spokesman urged the international commu-nity to shun its silence over the Indian brutalities and play an effective role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations for ensuring permanent peace in the region.
