Ex-President Ashraf Ghani’s peace envoy returns to Kabul

Abdul Salaam Rahimi, Special representative of Afghanistan’s former president in peace affairs re-turn to Kabul on Saturday, February 12, 2022, and was warmly welcomed by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Abdul Salaam Rahimi said that his return to Af-ghanistan was not a choice but an obligation as he no longer wanted to live abroad and that he is will-ing to stay in Afghanistan, no matter under which circumstances.

Abdul Salaam Rahimi hailed IEA’s ongoing strug-gles for the betterment of the situation of Afghani-stan and pledged to spare no efforts for the cause.

Acting Foreign Minister of the IEA Amir Khan Motaqi who welcomed Rahimi in the Ministry said that the move is positive and asked other Afghans in exile to return to the country as Kabul is no more a military city.

Amir Khan Motaqi addressing Abdul Salaam Ra-himi said that he can openly talk if he does not agree with their policies and can participate in TV talk shows and roundtables.

Meanwhile, a key member of the leadership of the IEA Anas Haqqani said that conflict in ideas is normal and people do not need to live in exile for that.Anas Haqqani added that the decision by Rahimi was valorous and that the ongoing situation in Af-ghanistan was hope of odd Afghans.
