RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir said every Pakistani has role to play in the nation’s battle against terrorism—whether in uniform or not.
The top general made the remarks at Apex Committee Meeting as country’s top civil, military officials met today for security review. COAS stressed need for a collective, nationwide effort to combat the growing security threats, reminding the committee that Pakistan’s Constitution tasks the armed forces with ensuring both internal and external security.
Gen Munir also warned that any attempt to obstruct or undermine the security operations would result in serious consequences. He acknowledged the ongoing sacrifices made by the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies, who, despite facing significant governance challenges, continue to protect the country at the risk of their lives.
His remarks come at a time of heightened security concerns in Pakistan, with increasing demands for unity and resolve in addressing the country’s ongoing security and governance issues.
