Deputy Head of Mission European Union Anne Marchal on Monday visited the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) Headquarters and held meeting with the Executive Director COMSATS, Dr SM Junaid Zaidi and other senior members. ED COMSATS on the occasion briefed the visiting delegation about COMSATS working and informed her that the commission was working not only in Pakistan but also in its member’s states especially in the African Region.
The EU Deputy Head of Mission also agreed that after joining of new Ambassador from European Union, a presentation will be arranged for all the stake holders of COMSATS to examine scope and possible areas of cooperation between the two organizations.
She assured to extend all possible help for recommending the projects, duly recommended by COMSATS Headquarters, for the Member states of COMSATS through her Delegation and other European countries.
COMSATS was established with the objective to support and catalyze the socio-economic uplift of the developing countries by promoting S&T through South-South Cooperative mechanisms. The Organization serves as an institutional platform for South-South and North-South technical cooperation in its twenty-seven (27) Member States in areas of mutual interest, such as Education, Information Technology, Environment, Energy, and Health.
