Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar said that the transparent elections will boost the morale of the Election Commission of Pakistan and electoral reforms have become necessary for transparent elections.
“In order to make next elections fair and transparent, the government is working with commitment.”
Opposition is an obstacle in the way of free and fair elections & election results will come in front of people within few hours through electronic voting machine.
Strengthening the institutions is the top most priority of government for which we are taking practical steps, he added.
Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar was talking to well-known businessman Gorez Habib Khan, MPAs from Tehreek-e-Insaf and media at the Governor House on Sunday.
Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar said that from the first day government is inviting all the political parties to sit together in order to make electoral reforms but opposition is refusing instead of having discussion with government.
Still there is time, opposition should negotiate with government to make the next elections transparent.
Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar said there is no doubt that fingers have been raised on every election that held in Pakistan so far but our government want to make the next elections absolutely transparent so that even the losing candidate cannot raise a finger on it. Other than electronic machine there is no option for transparent elections.
