KARACHI – Sindh residents were expecting two holidays on the occasion of 12 Rabiul Awwal but Sindh government announced single holiday on Tuesday, September 17 to mark Eid Miladun Nabi SAW.
A notification shared by provincial authorities said Spetember 17 holiday will apply across whole province, with all government offices and educational institutions remaining closed on this day.
In previous development, federal government announced public holidays on September 17 on the Islamic ocassion.
On Wednesday, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori hinted at discussing possibility of declaring both the 11th and 12th of Rabiul Awwal as public holidays for Eid Milad-un-Nabi with the prime minister and Sindh chief minister.
He made the announcement after meeting at Governor House, where preparations for the celebrations were reviewed. He also mentioned a grand public celebration at the Governor House on 12th Rabiul Awwal.
